How to use Command™ Picture Hanging Strips

How to Apply and Remove Command™ Picture Hanging Strips

There are important tips to know and follow before applying Command™ Picture Hanging Strips

- Wait 7 days after painting before use

- DO NOT apply strips to paper or soft surfaces on frame

- Remove hanging hardware from back of frame

- DO NOT hang over beds or on wallpaper

- DO NOT hang valuable or irreplaceable items

- Use indoors 50˚ – 105˚F

Failure to follow instructions carefully may cause damage.

    Step 1: Wipe wall with rubbing alcohol. Do not use household cleaners or water.

    Step 2: Separate strips. Click strips together.

  • Two-step process showing removal of one side of liners. Stick on frame as shown. Press firmly.

    Step 3: Remove liners from one side of the strip. Stick two strips to the top two corners of the frame and two strips halfway down the frame on both sides.

    Step 4: Remove remaining liners. Press frame firmly to wall.

  • Person removes frame from wall and presses the strips on the wall to reinforce strips

    Step 5: To ensure adhesive holds, temporarily remove frame from wall to reinforce strips. Peel frame as shown. Press each strip on wall for 30 sec.

  • Hands press a hook onto a wall while a clock icon indicates to wait 1 hour before hanging frame.

    Step 6: Wait 1 hour for adhesive to build. Align strips. Press frame until each pair of strips clicks.

How to Remove Picture Hanging Strips

    Step 1: Grab bottom corners and peel frame from wall. Do not pull straight off.

  • Hand pulling adhesive strip from wall with red prohibition circle.

    Step 2: Never pull away from wall.

  • Person pulling strip straight down against the wall.

    Step 3: Pull easy-off stretch strips slowly down against the wall at least 15 inches (38 cm) to release.

Painted walls, painted or varnished wood, painted cinder block or concrete, tile, metal, glass, laminates, or smooth solid surfaces are all approved damage-free hanging surfaces for Command™ Products.
