Command™ Hooks are available in a wide range of designs to match your individual style and decor. They also come in a variety of sizes and weight limits.

Application

A step-by-step walkthrough of the proper way to apply Command™ Hooks so they'll stay up.

Peel. Stick. Press

  • Clean the wall before applying a Command Hook

First, clean the wall with isopropyl rubbing alcohol by wiping gently. Don't use household cleaners like wipes or sprays because they leave behind a slippery residue.

  • Separate the strips and remove the red liner. Press the strip onto the backside of the hook

Separate the strips and remove the red liner. Press the strip onto the backside of the hook.

  • Remove the black liner and press hook firmly against the wall for 30 seconds

Remove the black liner. Now press the hook firmly against the wall for about 30 seconds. The harder you press, the stronger the adhesive bond will be.

Do you have a small one-piece hook without a base? If yes, skip the following remaining steps, but don't forget to wait 1 hour before hanging.

  • In order for adhesive to stick, slide hook up off the mounting base

In order to get the adhesive to really stick, you need to slide the hook up and off the mounting base.

  • Press the base firmly against the wall for 30 seconds

Now press the base firmly against the wall for 30 more seconds.

  • Wait 1 hour before hanging anything, this allows for the adhesive to reach maximum strength

Slide the hook back on. Wait 1 hour before hanging anything on the hook. This allows the adhesive bond to reach maximum strength. Check your package for the correct weight limits.

Removal

Learn the proper way to remove Command™ Hooks so they won't damage your wall. Key tip: stretch straight down, slowly.

Easy off stretch

  • Slide the hook up off the mounting base

Most hooks cover the tabs, so if you don't see the Command® Strip showing under the bottom of your hook, then slide the hook up to reveal the mounting base and strip.

  • Hold the mounting base gently

Hold the base gently in place (so it doesn't snap your fingers!), but don't press it against the wall.

  • Never pull the strip towards you. Always pull straight down as slow as you can

Remember to never pull the strip towards you. Always pull straight down as slow as you can.

  • Slowly stretch the strip straight down.

Slowly stretch the strip straight down, keeping your hand against the wall as you go. Keep stretching up to 15 inches until the strip releases from the hook and the wall.
