Rated 1 out of 5 by from TEARS paint off wall! NOT damage free hanging The short version: these strips tore paint off my wall, despite meticulously following instructions. Do not recommend. I bought these strips to hang a frame. I followed the instructions and cleaned the wall with rubbing alcohol and then applied the strips and pressed firmly for the recommended amount of time. Step 5 asks you to peel the frame off using the bottom two corners so you can press each strip into the wall firmly. I did so gently, slowly applying more and more pressure over a long period of time, but one of the strips ripped a large section of paint off my wall anyway. I am very unhappy as I am renting and will have to pay for the damage. This is not damage free hanging as advertised. 3M please take responsibility for the poor performance of your product and make things right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tore the paint off my wall Tried to use two of these pairs to hang a very lightweight picture frame in my bathroom which was just remodeled. Instructions say to wait at least 7 days after painting before using these. The paint was over two weeks old. Followed the instructions exactly. When I removed the frame by lifting out from the bottom as instructed, one of the two strip pairs tore a huge chunk of paint off the wall, right down to the drywall. Had to pay the contractor to come back and repair it. "Do No Harm"? That's deceptive marketing. NOT recommended.

    Command™ Weight Reference Guide

Not sure which Command™ Product is right for you? We weighed some common household objects to give you a better understanding of the amount of weight you’re hanging on your walls. Explore our Command™ Weight Reference Guide to find the best Command™ Product for your project.

    • 1 lb. Hold

Even the lightest items need the right support. Next time you brew a pot of joe in the morning, remember that a 16 oz bag of coffee beans is the equivalent to one pound.

    • 3 lb. Hold

Comparing apples to oranges might not be a fair matchup, but comparing a bag of apples to your next project—that’s a different story. Did you know that a standard bag of apples is equal to three pounds? How do you like them apples?

    • 5 lb. Hold

You want a damage-free hanging solution that’s up for the task—not one that will drop your object like a hot potato. For items with a bit more weight, remember that five pounds feels just like a standard bag of potatoes. Unsure whether you have a standard size bag? Just check the front of the bag for the 5 lb weight.

    • 8 lb. Hold

Looking for a solution to hang your heavier objects? No there’s no use crying over spilt milk. Just reach for the gallon of milk in your fridge—it weighs about eight pounds.
