How to Apply

Choosing the Right Product

Surfaces and Where to Use

Removing Without Damage

    • For 2-piece hooks, lift the hook cover off first to expose the tab. Then hold the base or the 1-piece hook gently and pull the tab straight down slowly along the wall. Do not pull the strip toward you.
    • This can happen if the paint was weak, old, uncured, damaged, or if the strip was pulled out instead of straight down during removal.
    • Do not yank the hook off the wall. Check the package instructions for broken-tab removal steps, which may include gently stretching the remaining strip if accessible. Dental floss or string can be used to saw through the remaining strip left on the wall. Stretch or peel off the remaining adhesive. If you have trouble you can also heat up the base plate with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive and then use floss.
    • When applied and removed correctly, Command™ Products are designed to remove cleanly with no sticky residue.
    • Command™ Products are a good option for many rental walls because they are designed to hold strongly and remove cleanly. Always follow instructions and check that the wall surface is in good condition.

Bathrooms, Humidity, and Outdoor Use

    • Yes, but use Command™ Bath Products that have water-resistant strips. They are designed for hot, wet, and humid bathroom conditions.
    • Regular hooks and strips may not perform as well in humid areas. For bathrooms or damp spaces, use Command™ Bath or water-resistant products.
    • Most Command™ Bath Products are made for wet and humid areas. Check the package instructions to confirm whether your product is shower-compatible and to review guidance for shower use and approved surface types. If a product is not intended for use in the shower, this will be clearly stated in the package caution statement.
    • Yes, but use Command™ Outdoor Products that have weather-resistant outdoor strips. Command™ Outdoor Adhesive Strips are water- and UV-resistant, and specially formulated to withstand most weather conditions including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. The hooks and clips hold strongly to a variety of smooth outdoor surfaces that were previously difficult to decorate – such as doors, windows, siding, decks, gutters and trim. Regular indoor strips are not made for outdoor conditions.
    • It may have been the wrong strip type, a wet or dirty surface, temperature changes, humidity, or too much weight. Use Command™ Bath or Outdoor Products for those spaces.
